Lastel has partnered with a rapidly growing, award-winning cybersecurity company in search of a Software Engineering Manager to join their expanding team in Galway.
Our client offers a variety of web security products that identify new malware sites via their threat intelligence database of several hundred million users.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to enhance their technical abilities and leadership skills while utilizing cutting-edge tools and technologies to build and enhance security products for a global customer base.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of software developers and test engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Drive changes in software development processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality across the engineering team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver innovative software solutions that meet customer requirements.
Ensure timely completion of software development projects within budget and quality standards.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity practices and technologies in secure software development and delivery.
Foster the technical growth of the development team through mentorship, training, and coaching.
Manage and develop a team of 15-20 engineers.
Architect and deliver key components of the security platform.
Work with the Scrum Master to establish a predictable velocity for the team’s progress.
Skills required:
5+ years of experience leading agile development teams.
Enthusiasm for mentoring and cultivating the growth of technical teams.
Proficiency in leading and designing PHP (Laravel) and/or Golang applications/teams.
Strong skills in planning and resource management for software development.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and aptitude for resolving product and technology issues.
Proven track record in driving process improvements for product delivery.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and design patterns is highly desirable.
Previous experience in microservices development, including API development, is advantageous.
Nice to have skills:
Understanding of SMTP/DNS protocols and/or Microsoft Graph.
Proficiency in working with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Git, Gitlab, and CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
Previous experience with distributed caching systems like Redis and message queues like Redis/RabbitMQ/Kafka.
Experience with Cloud tech stacks on AWS/Azure.
Proficiency in working with relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL.
