Software Team Lead

Lastel has partnered with a rapidly growing AI and sustainability-focused company based in Stuttgart, seeking a Lead Software Engineer/Software Team Lead to join their expanding team.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the development of cutting-edge AI-driven solutions that help transform industrial waste into valuable resources. You will work closely with the CTO, data science team, and in-house and outsourced developers to scale their innovative platform globally. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in back-end development, team leadership, and DevOps practices.

This role offers flexibility with a hybrid work model, with opportunities to work remotely. However, candidates should be based in Stuttgart and able to come into the office as needed.

What you need:
– 5+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Python backend frameworks, MySQL, and front-end development using Vue.js.
– Strong understanding of web development principles, RESTful APIs, database design, and CI/CD pipelines.
– Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and cluster management.
– Experience leading development teams and coordinating with data science teams to deliver high-quality products.

Nice to have:
– Experience with AI/ML, big data processing, or domains like the circular economy.
– Additional experience with other front-end frameworks (React, Angular), backend languages (Node.js), or cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
– Knowledge of process modeling and simulations or bioinformatics.
