Software Engineer

Lastel have partnered with a leading software company based in Limerick, Ireland, who are currently expanding their R&D team and looking for a Software Engineer.

Our client provides global manufacturing companies with Enterprise Applications, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that supports operational requirements, including financials, manufacturing, demand and supply chain planning, customer management, business intelligence and business process management.

As an engineer, you will be working with teams based both in Ireland/USA, and will be responsible for developing Next Generation Product Deployment and management tools.

What you will be doing:
•Work closely with the project team
•Take part in development activities including solution design and review, development, unit testing and code review
•Take part in team and project meetings
•Follow Scrum methodology and team standards

What you’ll need:
•2+ years of Software development experience
•Experience of working with at least one or more of following programming languages: Java, C#
•Knowledge of full software development life-cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing
•Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
•Strong analytical skills
•Strong communication skills
•Desire to learn new technologies and systems
•Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design

Nice to have skills:
•Experience of working in an Agile or Scrum team
•Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems
•Knowledge of tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, and virtualization.
•Experience with Python, and build tools such as ANT/Maven
•Experience of working with JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo
•Experience with Progress Open Edge
